Ella Update

We have had the birthmother interview and heard that it went well!!  Praise God!  Just found out today that we had a kickout in PGN for a previo.  That is okay, that means they are looking at our case.  A kick out to me, means prayerfully the next time through we will be approved!  Once again we will wait and trust!  We have five beautiful amazing children at home that are keeping us extremely busy during this time.  They too cannot wait for their sweet baby sister to come home and join our family.  I never dreamed that we would be parents of six children!  Praise God again, they are such amazing gifts from our Lord and we love them all dearly.  It is funny, the first two have blonde hair and blue eyes, the next two have brown hair and brown eyes and the next two have brown hair, huge brown eyes and tanned skin.  Who knows the next could be from Ethiopia have brown hair, brown eyes and brown skin.  We just love them all.    We would love to learn more about adoptions in Ethiopia if anyone has any information.  If not for ourselves personally, for an adoption ministry that I with three amazing ladies would like to start.

That's all for today.  I really love reading all the different blogs with many inspiring adoption stories and taking the opportunity to share some about ours.  God Bless you all!

Waiting For Ella

Waiting is hard. Waiting patiently is even harder. But, often doing God's will sometimes means waiting patiently. While we wait, we can love God, serve others, and tell others about Him. It is hard waiting for Ella to come home!!! We miss her, we love her and we want to hold her and care for her. But, we know that God's timing is perfect. How do we know that? Because He will meet all our needs according to His perfect schedule and purpose. Delays may make us think that He is not answering or is not answering the way we want. But, if we wait, trust, believe and hope God will conquer all. "For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently". (Romans 8:24-25)

I just read an interesting explanation of faith. Hebrew 11:1-3 says, " Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commanded for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible". hmmmmm... Something to think about. The footnote says: Two words describe faith, sure and certain. These two qualities need a secure beginning and ending point. The beginning point of faith is believing in God's character - He is who He says. The end point is believing in God's promises - He will do what he says. When we believe that God will fulfill His promises even though we don't see those promises materializing yet, we demonstrate true faith.

For me, I have learned to trust God's timing from my own life experiences. Once I was looking for a solution to a problem for many many months going on my own path. Finally God whispered His plan and it was far better than anything I could have ever dreamed of. The timing was perfect, the plan amazing and the people He chose to do the project completely hand picked by Him. Sometimes God shows us how His amazing plan is far superior than our own, and other times we just have to wait and trust and know that He is in control. Thank you God!
